Do you have what it takes to be a Yoni Jesner Scholar?
Yoni Jesner Scholarships are awarded to exceptional individuals who can demonstrate a special kind of activism within their community and evidence of excellence. We are looking for outstanding young people who, like Yoni, combine a love of humanity, a passion for Judaism and commitment to Israel with an open-minded and tolerant outlook. Yoni Jesner Scholarships are only awarded to students living in the UK.The scholarships are awarded on merit rather than needs based.
Yoni was spending his second gap year studying in Israel at the time of his death. The Yoni Jesner Scholarships aim to assist other students wishing to spend a year in Israel before commencing their university studies.
Scholarships will be provided for year-long structured educational programmes at yeshiva/seminary or on a Bnei Akiva programme that may include Jewish studies, study of Israel and culture and working with local communities.
Prospective Yoni Jesner Scholars must be nominated by third parties such as rabbis, teachers, youth leaders etc, not by family members. The nominator must complete this nomination form by 2nd February 2018. Selected nominees will be asked to complete an application form. A short list of nominees will be invited to attend interviews and then a decision will follow on awarding the Yoni Jesner Scholarships.
